Quick and Easy Beauty Products
With school kicking into high gear, we’re all about to get busy, busy, busy. But rushing out of the dorm with no make-up on? (Talk about a definite no-no.) Even if you're short on time, these beauty products for girls-on-the-go are guaranteed to get your beauty regime down to ten minutes or less, guaranteed.
Tinted moisturizer: This light, sheer product is way more fool-proof than liquid foundation - and it doesn't require any tools but your fingertips. Apply a thin layer for even-looking skin, but make sure you score one with a built-in SPF! Try Neutrogena's Healthy Skin Enhancer, $10.29 (at a recession-proof price).
Eyeshadow: Playing around with crazy eyeshadow palette can be fun, but when pressed for time, stick with basic colors (shimmery beige or pale brown) that you can brush over your whole lid without looking like Lady Gaga. The best on-the-go product is a dual-ended pencil that features eyeliner on one end and a coordinating eyeshadow on the other. It's a single fool-proof product that’s easy to throw in your bag for later touch-ups. Check out Avon's COLOR TREND Eye Duo, $3.25.
Mascara: While this is one step that cannot be rushed through, there are ways to make it a bit easier. For one, look for a big brush— one coat and you’re on your way. (DiorShow is a pricey cult favorite, but the large brush on Maybelline’s Volume Express Turbo Boost works just as well.) Want to touch up later? Look for something more portable like Fresh’s Magic Wand Mini Mascara Duo, $10.00.
Lips: Just like your outfit changes daily (at least I hope they do - you can't live in your sweats forever, right?), so should your lipstick. Obviously carrying around a color-coordinating palette can be a bit difficult when you're on-the-run, but that doesn't mean you should skip it. Instead, look for a travel one that combines multiple colors with a small carrying case. Tarte's t5 Super Fruit Lipgloss Set is a little pricey at $30, but it comes with eight interchangeable colors you can mix n' match (they lock together into one lipgloss) and a super-cute silver and gold striped carrying case so you can do touch-ups in between classes.
Powder: Shiny face? Finish your make-up off with a little powder for a chic, matte look. Forget those messy loose powders, and instead opt for one with the product stored right in the brush handle. Organic Wear’s 100% Natural Origin Matte Finishing Bronze Veil, $13.99, fits the bill and is both portable and compact.
Fragrance: Last but not least, there's no use in looking pretty if you don’t smell pretty too, right? For perfume on-the-go, look for your favorite scents in a roller ball applicator or in solid form. Both types are smaller and have a no-spill factor. Try DKNY's Be Delicious Rollerball Duo (two DKNY scents in one!), $20.00, or opt for the solid gel versions of Love By Harajuku Lovers, $18.00, or Clinique Happy's Three-Pack Perfume Pencils, $30.00.
