Site Buzz: There’s Always Free Shipping At HoldEverything.com

"!http://www.universitychic.com/files/hold.jpg!"://www.holdeverything.com "HoldEverything.com"://www.holdeverything.com is a site where you can find just what you need to....hold everything. The prices aren't always blue-light special worthy, but the items are quality and they always have a good amount of their merchandise on sale _(not to mention their free shipping section!)_. Trust me, there is no better way to make your apartment go from "dorm room chic" to "out of a pottery barn catalog" than to just stuff your junk in some pretty boxes and baskets. I can browse this site for hours. But if you see something you love...act on it! I'm still reeling over a desk I wanted for months that's no longer available. "Check It Out"://www.holdeverything.com

My Life On Mondays: Job Hunting 201 (But I'm No Expert…)

*I've figured out the key to successful job hunting...find a way to not have a job at all.* Hear me out on this one. Unless you are one of those people who only needs about 4 hours of sleep, _(p.s. I hate you if you are)_, it is very hard to balance a temporary job with job hunting, _(and forget about trying to mix in a social life or any kind of work out routine or hobby.)_ Really, the best way to get a good job is to have no job at all. *At first, this line of thinking can really backfire.* You start thinking, _Who needs a job anyway?_, while you are rolling out of bed every day at 11 and crawling onto the sofa to watch Tivo-ed episodes of Girlfriends and Days of Our Lives. But sooner or later, the guilt will kick in.....and when it does....Watch out world! So you start looking for opportunities. Maybe you create a professional online profile for yourself, or tinker around with your resume. *The point is, you start to notice how you're wasting your time, talent and life*. So you're more motivatd to get out there and show people the valuable skills that you have. *You feel the need to prove to people that you can do so much more besides converse with ease about the latest cast off from America's Next Top Model.* Now if you're not in a position to temporarily live with out too many expenses for a while _(a.k.a. swallow your pride and move back with your parents)_, then I suggest working the bare minimum at your temporary gig or trying to work hard for a while and then take a week off. That's what I've done right now, *I've taken a week off, determined to flood companies with my resume*, seize every networking opportunity and get on top of all my personal buisness so I'm ready for whatever comes my way. *And I'll make sure to report back to let you know if this little theory of mine actually works......right after I watch Girlfriends.*
*My Life on Mondays* is written by Stacy Hinojosa, a recent college gra.....a loser. An absolute nothing. A pathetic excuse for an Executive Editor and a lousy writer....sob...sniff....sob....

I Hope the Easter Bunny Brings Me a Tanning Bed….

*Well, I've officially grown up.* Today I am celebrating Easter without the slightest hint of Easter Bunny fun. No hideously multi-colored basket with neon green grass, no hidden eggs, no chocolate rabbit. I was in Target yesterday with my friend, helping her shop for her little cousin _(who will be visited by the Easter Bunny)_ and we were looking at the *Bratz* section.
*If you don't know what Bratz are*, think of the most annoying looking doll possible, and then picture her wearing huge chandelier earrings, a hot pink feather boa and a rhinestone-studded denim jacket. Now I remember hearing about these dolls a few years back, .little did I know it had turned into an empire, the likes of which we have not seen since My Little Pony. There are different costumes, different accessories, little sisters _(Bratz Babyz)_, accessories for your little sisters, pets and accessories for your little sister's pets. The amount of glitter and sparkle in that aisle is enough to make you go blind.
*My friend and I are searching through the chaos that is the "Bratz Aisle"* and we're trying to find a suitable gift for a 5-year-old. How about "Back To School" Bratz? Well, only if her school is a brothel. We finally found a Bratz pet bunny rabbit, perfect for Easter. I was almost out of the Bratz aisle when I saw it. *A Bratz Babyz and her very own tanning bed*. My friend looked on with shock and horror as I picked up the little yellow plastic tanning bed and inspected it's tiny stick-on UV rays. We both agreed. *Too far Bratz, .too far.* Hoppy Easter Everyone!

More Developments in the Duke University Rape Allegations

*New photo evidence in the case against Duke's lacrosse team* player accused of raping a woman at a party on March 13th where she was performing as a stripper suggests she may have been bruised and injured before she arrived. *Sports Illustrated*, _(yes, the same news source that has an annual swimsuit edition)_ is keeping a close eye on the story. UChic Lowdown: 5 Bucks + Stamp = Ten Songs and Great Hair

!http://www.universitychic.com/files/vo5.jpg! *VO5* _(aka: the one-dollar shampoo we college girls secretly worship)_ has just released a new line of *"red-hot" styling products*. And right now, if you purchase one and mail them your receipt, they will give you *10 free iTunes downloads*! Sounds like a no-brainer to me. I bought the Sheer Wightless Leave-In Anti-Frizz & Shine Cream and it works pretty well. It also has that I-just-got-back-from-the-salon smell, which is always nice. Jennifer Aniston in the new Vogue

*Aside from looking flawless*, Jennifer Aniston had some interesting things to say in the new issue of Vogue. Her comments go along with our ongoing discussion regarding the coverage of celebrities such as Lindsay Lohan (see below).
_"Please! Don't feel sorry for me. Don't make me your victim. I don't want it. I'm so tired of being part of this sick, twisted Bermuda Triangle. As long as it's scandalous, it's a story. And that's kind of what it's been. It's just stupid. It's ridiculous. There's nothing to do about it. All I can do is go on and live my life. But like I've said before, these are human beings. And it's not a show and it's not an article and it's not a headline. It's real and it sucks."_
Oh great, now I feel bad that I put her in the headline....

Celebrity Chic: Lindsay Lohan Overload

!http://www.universitychic.com/files/lindsay.jpg! I was at the grocery store today when I noticed that *Lindsay Lohan is on the cover of Allure, Seventeen and Cosmo this month*. _That's crazy!_ I also just ran across a video of her leaving a tanning salon in L.A. and was SHOCKED at the paparazzi coverage. Now, I am completely guilty of buying In Touch, Life & Style and the like, and I know that most of the photos in there are provided by paparazzi. But I had NO IDEA that it was this bad. I could not imagine having to live that life...and for a moment, I was actually tempted to cut La Lohan a bit of slack for all the bonehead things she tends to do on camera. Honestly, this video shocked me. I cannot believe that it's legal for people to do this...and not only do it, but make a living at it. *Are we cool with this?* "Watch the Video"://us.video.aol.com/video.full.adp?mode=0&pmmsid=1475525&restartUrl=http%3a%2f%2fus%2evideo%2eaol%2ecom%2fvideo%2eindex%2eadp%3fmode%3d1%26pmmsid%3d1475525&mode=1

My Life On Mondays: Technology doesn't solve the problem

So I bought a 2G flashdrive from Staples to transfer everything from my old computer to my new iBook. There's really only three things that need moving...my photos, my music and my documents. However, there are thousands of photos, hundreds of songs, and documents from three years of high school and four years of college. *This may take a while.* At first, I thought... _no problem, the 2G will take care of everything...three or four or five transfers and I'm done._ Well, it isn't really going that way. There's duplicate songs, word files change fonts going from windows to mac, and I'm so paranoid about losing a photo forever that I have to double and triple check every folder. Ultimately, I want my new computer organized to perfection. So it's my own built up clutter and lack of past organization keeping me from finishing this project in less than 20 hours. Did I mention I'm still trying to figure out how Finder works? *So my new computer is organized beyond belief*, but I have the same clutter and lack of organization when it comes to my job/internship search. If I see a posting, I have to scramble to update my resume and write a coverletter, find an envelope, locate a stamp, etc. It's like I'm not ready to be an efficient job hunter because I don't think I'm ready to have a legitimate job. I keep waiting for the right time, when I'm caught up with everything that needs catching up instead of realizing that I'm never going to catch up and I'm not supposed to. _(However, I would probably be a lot more caught up if I rolled out of bed earlier than ten)_. Anyway...that's my life on today, Monday, March 13th. Now if you'll excuse me...I gotta go clean my room, take a shower, pick up the dry cleaning and go to Cole Haan. ************************************* *stacy hinojosa* is the executive editor of University Chic and has a degree in journalism from Brigham Young University.
