One of the main parts of the new year is the resolutions we make. Every year, people make a list of new things they want to try or changes they want to make to their lives in the new year.
Most of those people never follow through. Halfway through the new year, those people get caught up in their regular routines and forget about the resolutions they made at the beginning.
With the holiday season comes a ton of stress. Not only is December one of the most expensive months of the year ... but stores are packed and winter weather creates chaos for the airports.
Of course, there are also the family gatherings and holiday parties to attend, food to prepare and new resolutions to be made.
It is easy to let all of the holiday stress wear you down, so take a few minutes to try out these few techniques to help you relax and clear your mind.

I know all these things were running through my head my freshman year of college. One thing I wasn’t warned about before I ventured off for my first year of college was that feeding myself was not going to be as easy as it sounded. As I’ve written before, I ate so many bags of barbecue chips it’s not even funny.

One of my favorite summer memories is waking up early on Saturday mornings to get to the farmers market with my mom. We each had our own baskets, which we filled with melons, peaches, herbs, flowers, corn and other fresh produce. And as a reward for waking up early, I would always get a fried apple pie from the Amish vendors for breakfast.
