With all of the recent celebrity hype, I don't think anyone can deny wanting to feel the power of strutting down the red carpet. The American culture has become obsessed with celebrity hype, so why not throw a party to make you and all of your friends feel what its like to have all the attention be on you! Throw your very own runway party. Invite all of your friends over for a night filled with music, spotlights and of course, a red carpet!
INVITATIONS ONLY
Get your party started out on the right path with some invitations that not only have class, but also a little sass! The invites will get your guest excited for a night full of a glam and will surely make each and every one of your guests feel like a celebrity! I really like these invitations from vistaprint.com.
They come 10 per pack and are priced at only $4.99 per pack! These will be a perfect fit for your party. Consider checking out vistaprint.com for more invitation ideas.
If you're like me, and you love making your own invites, consider making yours by using magazine cutouts and construction paper. Cut out some of your favorite red carpet snapshots from any celebrity magazine and simply glue it on to some fun and fabulously bright construction paper. You can even personalize it according to an individual friends favorite celeb! Making your own invites will not only cut down on your budget, but also give you a super fun pre-party activity!
SWEET SLURPS
Since we're trying to create a night filled with faux-celebrity fun, try to create the illusion of fabulous trendy drinks. Don't worry, this can be done in an inexpensive manner. Instead of serving beer, out of a keg, or a can (which I know is the always easy always appreciated college party drink) consider serving wine and champagne. This doesn't mean that you have to break the bank on several expensive bottles of wine or champagne. Consider buying boxed wine, which I SWEAR is just as fabulous as the expensive stuff, only serve it in a fancy juice bowl.
Similar to what one would normally put there jungle juice in. Franzia brand is super cheap and tastes fantastic! For more information on Franzia boxed wine, check out www.franzia.com.
For those of you under 21 years old, don't fret, there are tons of super classy drinks to serve at your runway party! Try serving tasty "Cream Raspberry sippers. They are sophisticated yet delicious.
Mix It Up:
1 1/4 cups fresh raspberries
1 1/4 cups unsweetened white grape juice
1 1/2 cups raspberry Sorbet
1/4 cups water
1 tbsp lemon juice
10 ice cubes
fresh mint sprigs

TASTY TREATS
Don't stress about serving ultra fancy foods for your runway party. Simple pickings are always nice for a party of this kind. Stick to healthy, yet sophisticated treats like veggie dips and cheese and crackers. Try this great recipe for spinach and artichoke dip via foodnetwork.com
1 cup thawed, chopped frozen spinach
11/2 cups thawed, chopped frozen artichoke hearts
6 ounces cream cheese
1/4 cup sour cream
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1/3 cup grated Parmesan
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
(Recipe via Food Network)
As for other pickings, stick to simple things. Nothing too time consuming to make! Because after all, your guests will be so focused on everyone's fabulous celebrity clothing and the runway!
HAVE FUN
Most importantly, enjoy your night of Hollywood glam. Throw on a great party playlist, dress up in your chicest outfit and strut your stuff with your friends down your own red carpet. This will be a great way to unwind as the school year comes to an end, and summer approaches!
