Wondering how you can avoid the Freshman 15 without having to hit the gym every day. Angeles Burke has some tips and tricks you can use to stay in great shape without having to leave the comfort of your dorm room! Check out her list of great ideas!
College Dorm Dips
Using your desk or even your bed frame, try doing three sets of 10 dips. Place your hands on the edge and walk your feet forward. Bend at the elbow and drop your glutes low. pushing up through your palms. This is a great exercise to keep your triceps looking lean and strong without needing any equipment.
With your chair behind you, squat down as far as you can without actually touching the seat. This exercise works all of your leg and bum muscles, even with minimal space in your room. Try 3 sets of 10 for this exercise as well.
Textbook Toned Abs
Take the heaviest textbook in your room and hold it with both hands over your head while you are lying in the sit-up position. Slowly rise up until you are in the fully contracted sit-up position.
Sit up with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor. Hold the text book up and twist your body from side to side touching the text book to the ground. This will target all of your core muscles with emphasis on your obliques. Pick your feet up and balance on your glutes for more of a challenge. The textbook easily takes the place of a gym weight and will help you reach that six-pack!
Take the Hard Way Home
Always take the elevator up to your dorm room? Skip it! Taking the stairs will help you burn extra calories and get your heart pumping. Skip a step, and you can really tone up your calves and glutes.
